Game development
From a game idea
to something playable
Explore the core experience, test the mechanics, and build a game around what makes people want to play.
Built around
the way
people play
Start with the player, the idea, and the experience you want to create. Shape a practical scope before adding more systems and content.
Game concepts
Turn an early idea into a clear gameplay loop, with goals, interactions, and a focused plan for what to test first.
Playable prototypes
Build a small, playable version to explore mechanics, controls, pacing, and the feel of the core experience.
Interactive experiences
Develop game-based interactions around an agreed brief, from a focused standalone experience to a broader game concept.

Play early, learn often
Find the fun first
A playable prototype helps turn assumptions into something you can test. We explore the central mechanic, observe what feels clear or confusing, and refine the experience before expanding the scope.
Focused mechanics, clear feedback, and room to iterate
Explore our approachThe building blocks of play
Choose the pieces your game needs, with platform, visual scope, and technical requirements agreed around the experience you want to build.
Concept & core loop
Define what the player does, the goals they work toward, and the interactions that make up a repeatable play session.
Gameplay & controls
Develop the central mechanics, input, movement, and interaction rules around the agreed platform and player experience.
Levels & progression
Shape challenges, pacing, and progression in a focused prototype or the agreed game scope.
Interfaces & feedback
Build menus, in-game information, onboarding, and feedback that help players understand their actions and next steps.
Supporting game systems
Plan and implement the state, settings, and progress systems needed to connect the playable experience.
Playtesting & refinement
Review the game through play, investigate confusing or unfinished interactions, and iterate on usability and technical behavior.
From prototype to next steps
Play, learn, and build
Use a focused milestone to understand the idea, then decide what deserves further development. Scope and priorities can evolve with what you learn.
Prototype & validate
Agree a clear question for the prototype, build the essential interactions, and review the result through play before investing in more content.
Develop & refine
Expand the agreed mechanics, interfaces, and systems, with testing and performance review for the target platform. Plan handover and further work around the project.
Game development FAQ
A few questions
before we start
Can we start with just a game idea?
Yes. We can help shape the player experience, core loop, and a manageable first milestone. A short concept or playable prototype can clarify the idea before a larger development commitment.
Can you build a playable prototype first?
Yes. We define what the prototype needs to test and focus on the essential mechanics and interactions. Prototype visuals and systems may be temporary; the next stage is agreed after reviewing what you learn.
Which platforms can we build for?
We discuss your intended players, devices, controls, and distribution needs before agreeing the target platform and technical approach. Platform support and release requirements are confirmed for each project rather than assumed.
How do we plan artwork and audio?
We agree the visual direction, required assets, and responsibilities at the start. A prototype can use temporary assets. Production artwork, animation, and audio need a defined sourcing plan, suitable rights, and an agreed place in the project scope.
Can you work on an existing game?
We can review the project, codebase, available assets, and the changes you want to make. Feasibility and scope depend on the existing technology, documentation, access, and condition of the project.
What happens after the prototype?
We review the gameplay and what the prototype has helped you learn. The next step might be another iteration, a more complete build, or a narrower scope. Continued development, handover, release preparation, and support are agreed for the project.
Let’s make it playable
